Living Artwork's Unique & Original Handmade Planters

This is a new found love of mine, taking outdoor building materials and combining them into structural, functioning planters, utilitarian artworks that I have loosely coined, 'Living Artworks'. I want to create something that can both function and add a unique flare to your home, outdoor space and garden. The phrase I keep in my mind as I am designing, constructing and planting these Living Artworks, is 'My Favorite Thing I've Never Had', the Utilization of each piece or pair of artworks  combined with easy care plants that surround you in your home and garden and hopefully eventually become one of  your favorite things.

The above work, a set of three, is a new work for Eagle Construction's Conference Room. Other pairs and pieces were constructed for different purposes and needs. Hand-built and sculpted, a mixed media of sorts, this is a large set three mortar and patina graced with gorgeous white Orchids and Ferns . Due to the nature of the materials and the consideration of the spaces per design, each planter or pot takes on its own work becoming a one of a kind. 

This handcrafted root vine planter is designed as a one-of-a-kind, organic art piece—each one uniquely shaped by hand from outdoor building materials to mimic the natural movement of aged woodland vines. Planted with vibrant variegated ivy and finished with live moss, it brings a soft, timeless presence to any space.
Whether styled on a patio, nestled into a garden setting, or displayed as a focal point indoors, this piece reads as both planter and artwork. English Ivy have feet that actually cling to surfaces in nature to aid in sprawling and spreading habit. The ivy clinging to this pot is the idea as it weaves in and around the vessel combined forming a living work of art. 

Old World Look Hanging indoor or outdoor wall planter. These are original one of a kind wall sconce planters that can hang just about anywhere. Pot up with Ferns, large draping plants, grasses or flowers, just about anything you set your mind to. Just an easy care idea with big impact. These are my original artworks, no two are alike. I can make additional sconces to go with this, just reach out to me. These are lightweight yet durable to stand up to years of outdoors. You can also use indoors with Angel Vines, succulents, Ivies, just about anything you set your mind to ; ) The Planter is 25 inches tall, 14 inches at the top tapering to 2 inches at the base and 7 inches deep (out from the wall) Made of outdoor mixed media materials will last years and just get neater and neater with actual moss and nature patinas. Great old look yet a contemporary functionality. A wow Piece! The process takes up to two weeks to create and dry and have ready to go. This is a custom order piece.

Mixed Media Large Outdoor Hanging Planters Embellished with Roses. These are super versatile, use stacked in a narrow space or use symmetrical to flank an entry. Use them empty or as a planter for draping flowers, greenery, etc. I made this pair particularly for my Mother, Phyllis, who wanted them on classic brick columns that hold her iron gated garden doors and the main entry into her garden. She has not traded me any of her fabulous pottery, yet, so I have found all kinds of uses for them both indoors and outdoors. Due to them being handmade, one is usually a touch smaller than the other and this is just lovely when using as a stacked  set. Available in white as well, and a more neutral brown is in the works.

Loving the Look and Versatility of this new concept which serves as either a great table top planter or a functional bird bath. Drill a center hole or leave as is for a bird bath use. They love it because it is sturdy and natural feeling to them, graduating down into depth as well as a nice texture they trust with their feet. Honey Bees also love these as will as other pollinators. Just keep in a general spot for them to learn to trust its reliability and then get ready for some action! Just a great contemporary design and universal and timeless look! Made of outdoor building materials, a mixed media piece, this will last for years in your landscape. NO two are alike.
